ALADDIN JR.

This week has been the school musical at Mike and Matt's school. It is one of my favorite things of the year. For the last three years Matt has had a leading part. Now that Mike is at the school he could participate too. I think Matt had a lot more fun this year having his brother in the play with him. Hopefully, if I get Bron's variance, Bron can join them next year. This year they did Aladdin Jr. Much to my surprise they cast Matt as Jafar. This was totally shocking to me as I see him more as a Prince Charming type than the villain. He did great and had an awesome wicked laugh. He also had several singing solo's and did a great job. Mike was one of the guards. His name was Benjamin. He had several speaking lines and loved doing his part. They both thought it was especially funny when Jafar calls the guards nincompoops.
The play was double cast. On their off night they were magical servants. They had fun doing this part also - as they got to sing and dance with the chorus. There were over 180 kids in the play and about 40 of them got to perform in both nights. Matt and Mike were glad to be chosen for these parts.

I wish I could've seen them on their off night too! Those blue hats are way cuter than any of the other ones that kids wore.
